I love reading indie books. When I’m reading a good indie book, it’s a great feeling knowing that I get to read something that thirty years ago might never have made it in front of people. Because publishers only have so many spaces to fill. It’s a sad reality.
So while I’m really enjoying the indie scene right now, I’m actually going to jump back on the traditionally published train for a little while. For one reason, here it is: Neil Gaiman.
I have a confession to make, I actually haven’t read any Neil Gaiman yet and I’ve made it my mission to figure out what I’ve been missing out on. So here’s a snapshot of what I’ve got on my TBR list right now:
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
I was digging around in Waterstones when I found this one with beautiful illustrations by Chris Riddell throughout. A whole magical world underneath London? Had to get it! This one is a little bit down the TBR list right now but I’m looking forward to making my way to it.
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
Norse mythology is a huge favourite of mine. Magic and history are one of the best combinations and when written by a magic master like Neil Gaiman, there’s no reason not to be excited. Featuring all the Norse Gods we know and love: Thor, Loki, Odin, Freya etc.
I’m really looking forward to reading a few paperbacks. E-books are great, nice and convenient and of course, that bit cheaper, but I do love holding a real book. Here’s to smashing my reading list and making my way to these two gems!
Thanks for reading!
I love Neil Gaiman. He’s one of the best authors around at the moment. I have Norse Mythology ready to go on my Kindle so I’m really interested to see what you think before I give it a go xo
