Wisely or foolishly, my plate is ridiculously full at the moment. While most people are working the “9-5”, lately I’ve worked the “4-2”. Yup, that’s 4AM. But enough about work, let’s talk about the fun stuff.
Apart from work, I’ve been snowed under with writing two novels, daily blog posts and reading all the books in my inbox. It’s. Been. Amazing. Without a doubt, I want this to be my life and I’m working my butt off to make it so.
When you’re working towards a goal/dream, it doesn’t actually feel like work – and believe me when I say that it’s actually a huge problem. When you love your work and you want to get somewhere fast, it’s so easy to forget to take breaks. Problem is, you’ll burn out whether you love what you’re doing or not. So here’s the challenge: figuring out when to take breaks.
So far, I’m not good at it to say the least.
After a total burnout in the last few days, I committed to having a day filled with Skyrim, reading and writing a few blog posts just so I don’t go crazy feeling unproductive. And you know what? It did the world of good. Who knew video games and books were a cure-all? Life hack.
Despite the burnout, this has been a great week. I’m a step closer to my goals and I’ve learned some important lessons about self-care. Plus, I’ve had a lot of support from those of you that follow the blog and it’s been really great to connect with y’all.
So, I’m looking forward to this coming week and even more so my holiday to Croatia in a few weeks. Can’t believe it’s nearly here! But don’t worry, if you follow the blog, I’ll make sure to schedule posts so that we never miss a day. When I’m not getting sunburnt on a beach or getting lost in Kings Landing (oh yeah, we’re going to that part of Croatia!), I’ll be sure to check in with you guys and say hi.
Hope you’ve had a great weekend and hope your week is even better!
Thanks for reading!
I hear what you’re saying about not taking breaks; when what you’re doing doesn’t feel like a chore it’s harder to step away. I sometimes set the alarm on my phone to force myself to stop. Lol! Doesn’t always work because I can still hit the off button and carry on but it’s a step in the right direction, right?! 😉
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. x

Wow, you’re as dedicated to your work as some people are to sleep. Actually, most people! You’re right, it’s so tough. Especially when trying to do what you love full time is new to you. I’ll have to try your methods! Thank you, I hope you’ve had a great weekend too. x
