For the first time in a while I’m having a weekend off to attend a Christening and I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I remember how to interact with human beings. Is there a handbook I can use to brush up?
The last few weeks have been split up into authoring, working and sleeping. The hours are long, but it’s a satisfying feeling to be working towards my dreams. Even if illness has slowed things down a bit. Still, it’s always nice to take a break every now and then. Let’s just hope the withdrawal symptoms for writing aren’t too bad!
My inbox has been more or less flooded this last week with review requests and most of them look super interesting. I have to admit, ever since the bad experience with an author a few months ago, I’ve been a lot more selective about the books I’ll choose to review. It’s probably the learning curve that every book blogger has to go through. But I’m really impressed with the quality that’s come in lately! So, with any luck, this will mean a whole bunch of good reviews on newly released indie books in the next few months.
Unfortunately, with everything that’s been going on, my calligraphy has taken a back seat. I’m gutted, because I was actually making some progress with it, but the book and unfortunately, work have had to come first. Work’s great for eating and all but there’s got to be a balance and I’m hoping for a reduction in my hours soon so I can concentrate on my books.
Busy as things are now, things are going to get doubly busy in the next few weeks. I can’t say much at the moment but I’ve got a project going on that’s faaaairly big and I can’t wait to talk more about it in the next few months. It’s a big, urban fantasy secret!
I hope you have had a great weekend and for goodness sake, don’t let those horrible Mondays get you down.
Thanks for reading!
