Sunday Thoughts

Sunday Thoughts

For the first time in a long time, it’s felt like a productive week.

Is it just me or is it that the times you’re super busy and are literally getting a new task done every minute, you still feel like you’ve done nothing? Your to-do list is so long that dedicating a whole 24 hours to it feels like it’s made nothing more than a dent.

But no more! Now the book release and author takeovers are all over, I can get back to blogging and writing with a renewed enthusiasm. What with all the marketing and social media, the creative side of things has gotten a bit lost lately.

The one thing that has really taken a back seat in the last few weeks is reading and I spent this week catching up on my to-be-read pile. It’s gotten waaaay bigger recently!

It’s been a great opportunity to relax and recuperate after how frantic things have been. And let’s face it, there’s not much better than curling up with a new read during the cold months.

The big question is, have you had a chance to read enough, lately? To sit down, have a hot chocolate and light some incense? Maybe, heaven forbid, take a long candlelit bath while you squint at the paperback perched precariously on the toilet seat. Because there’s no way you’ll risk it falling in the bath, right?

Life gets on top of us sometimes but the important thing is to know when to draw the line and take the opportunity to rebalance your life. It’s no easy task but it needs to be done. I mean, it’s November. Y’all remember how crazy December gets with Christmas and New Year rolled into one. This is the last few weeks of freedom before life turns into a tornado of presents, school plays and those gosh darned Christmas songs.

I managed to get my life back into a healthy balance this week, although there’s still some work to be done. So I hope you get the chance to do the same with yours if you need it. Or if not, just to take a hard-earned break. Self-care is a fad we shouldn’t turn our noses up at!

Thanks for reading!
