Sunday Thoughts

Sunday Thoughts

This week has been a lot more read-y than the last. Thanks goodness!

I’m a pretty linear reader and I only like to read one book at a time but right now I’m reading three books at once and loving it. I’ll admit, though, I was sort of forced to read the third book on my list because book two got so steamy that it was a little inappropriate to read while on the treadmill. I love reading at the gym.

Still, I’m really enjoying reading three books at once and they’re all so good that I’m not losing the plots or the characters in each other. In fact, I’m loving this new reading system so much I think I’m going to make it my business to read multiple books at the same time all the time.

In the run-up to Christmas, I’ve made some effort to take some breaks by going to Christmas markets and hikes and I’ve got to say, I had no idea how much my productivity would spike. I’m more organised, more driven during the times I do work and eating less rubbish. Consciously, I know that taking breaks means more productivity, but it’s hard to tear myself away from my projects sometimes. My husband is always telling me to put down my laptop.

So, just in case anyone needs to read this right now, take a break! It will actually make sure you get more work done later. It sounds completely backwards because surely doing the work will actually get the work done but it’s not true. Trying to do work on 2% battery only means your brain switches off sooner rather than later.

I’m going to do my best this week to practice what I preach by making sure I get out of the house and have some fun once in a while. I hope you can do that, too!

Thanks for reading!
