My TBR pile just got a whole lot thicker on account of a hardback graphic novel that came through my letterbox the other day. Unexpectedly, I might add. Isn’t it amazing when books just materialise?
Anyway, it’s a (hardback) book that I’ve been dying to read for a while now, so it’s sitting on the top of my TBR pile now. Balanced precariously on top of a lot of smaller books that were already threatening to kill me with the help of a small gust of wind.
“Avatar Aang and friends honor an Air Nomad holiday that hasn’t been celebrated in over one hundred years, but when cryptic visits from the spirit of Avatar Yangchen lead Aang to a refinery operating on land sacred to the Airbenders–they soon find themselves in peril as a dangerously powerful ancient spirit awakens with vengeance and destruction on its mind!”

The Rift, a hardback collection of Avatar: The Last Airbender comics, is the third book in the graphic novel series. Books one and two, The Promise and The Search were amazing so it made sense to carry on the series and see what happens next.
While you don’t necessarily need to have read the first two books to enjoy The Rift, you do need to have seen the TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender for you to really appreciate what’s going on. Or so I’ve gathered from reading the first two.
Consider this an amazing excuse to start a new series which is, as of this blog post, is available to watch on Netflix. Do yourself a favour and binge-watch it!
I can’t wait to start reading this one!
Thanks for reading!
