Reading Catch Ups

Reading Round Up: 19th – 25th March 2020

My plan to read a short book a few weeks ago to stay ahead of the game backfired on me when I read a really long book this week. Yesterday’s review of Wake of the Sadico will tell you how that went down.

So, I’m not ahead of schedule anymore but the good news is, I’m not behind schedule either. In fact, this week’s features are bang on time and I don’t like it. Being early is the best way to be. The plan is to speed up in the coming weeks. We are being quarantined after all.

But reading has been a little further down on my priority list in the last seven days because of all the guest posting I’ve been doing!

I’ve written all about how books and fantasy enables our predisposition to escape from reality on the Darkness Rising blog. COVID-19 did inspire this one a little bit, as we’re all a little bit anxious about what the immediate future holds. This reality is shaky enough right now that we are more tempted than ever to escape it and books have always been my go-to escapism method. Check out that blog post on the Darkness Rising website!

I’ve also just finished a post for the Whispering Ink Book Blog and that’ll be prepped and ready to go by the end of the day. It’s super exciting to collaborate with other blogs and after Kim Petersen’s inspiring Anxious Author post a few weeks ago, I couldn’t be happier to have teamed up with this blog!

In this time of isolation, it’s wonderful to collaborate with people from around the world.

Thanks for reading!
