Reading Catch Ups

Reading Round-Up: 17th – 23rd July 2020

If you’ve read my reviews in the last few weeks, you’ll know I’m on an S.M. Reine run.

I’ve enjoyed the Tarot Witches series for two weeks, with book three now at the top of the pile. It’s a raunchier series than I was expecting (even with all the reviews saying so!) but it’s super immersive and enjoyable.

Truthfully, this past week and a half I’ve done a lot less reading and a lot more release day prep for A Druid’s Secret. Yup, the novel I wrote for the Darkness Rising boxed set, the novel that got me my USA Today Bestselling Author letters, is having a standalone release!

I didn’t want to release exactly the same book as was in the boxed set because it seemed a bit unfair to ask people to buy a book twice over. So, I’ve spent the last month writing and finalising two brand new bonus scenes for A Druid’s Secret. In these, Tabatha gets to spend a bit more time getting to know Leo and facing off against her nemesis in combat class.

In case you’re unfamiliar with A Druid’s Secret, it’s a magic academy book featuring a druid who can’t actually cast spells. But the more she learns about Olkaster Academy, her new school, the more she discovers that her powers are more complicated than she first understood.

It’s been great fun revisiting Tabatha’s story and with a whole series plan finished, there’s even more of Tabatha in the pipeline. There are even tentative plans for her own series set when she is all grown up.

I’m going to officially announce A Druid’s Secret this Saturday with a new release post but I just couldn’t keep it to myself any longer!

A Druid’s Secret is up for pre-order on Amazon, Kobo, B&N, Apple and a few other publishing platforms. Right now, the price is set at 99c but this is strictly a pre-order price. This book goes up to $2.99 as soon as its published, so make sure if you get a copy, get it BEFORE it releases.

I’m just gonna drop the universal link for A Druid’s Secret a-right here in case you want to get your copy at pre-order price. (Spoiler alert: you totally do!)

In the meantime, I’m also getting stuck back in to writing Scorpio’s Virtue, the sequel to Scorpio’s Grace. Burn-out breaks were needed before I started writing this book, so taking the time out to focus on A Druid’s Secret was a great idea.

Before I forget! Scorpio’s Grace is also on sale until the end of July for 99c! Here’s the link for that book, too.

Needless to say, it’s a bit of an exciting time at the moment with one book on sale and the other up for pre-order. After a long slump full of self-doubt and imposter syndrome, it’s great to finally feel good about publishing again. Still, powering through was the best way to address all the negative feelings. Although it didn’t feel that way at the time.

I would hugely appreciate any support you can give for A Druid’s Secret in the run-up to its release, so if it looks like your kind of thing, please grab a copy! I will be eternally grateful – especially if you share the news with your friends!

Thanks for reading!
