In the two years I’ve done this blog, I’ve never missed a day (to my memory). So I was absoluteley gutted when I woke up this morning to realise that I hadn’t prepared a blog post. I was called in to an emergency shift at work and I didn’t have time to put one together. Major fail.
Perhaps that should read that I wasn’t prepared to get up at 5am to write it. Still, better late than never!
I’ve been taking a few extra shifts lately in the run-up to moving out of London. Thankfully, charging ridiculous agent fees in the UK is now banned but moving is still expensive. If we’re going to start living the life on the south coast, we need the cash to get there.
Having said that, I had a little more time to space out my reading this week because of a very unfortunate book that I had to DNF. Long story, here’s the review. I’m grateful to be able to take my time a bit with life getting so hectic. I know it’s only going to get worse for the next few weeks so it’s good to be ahead of the curve just a little.
Unfortunately this shake-up also means that writing has taken a back seat. While I’ve still been planning my new upcoming series The Rogue Valkyrie Series, Scorpio’s Virtue has taken a bit of a back seat. But when we finally have our new house in a quiet corner of the UK rather than in a tiny flat on one of London’s major arteries, I’m hoping productivity will be abundant.
My intentions to finish all the series I started over the last year are still strong. I’m just waiting for pay day until I splurge on Sarah Painter’s Crow Investigations series and can get stuck into that. In the meantime, I need to finish the last book in a Kat Ross series and then dig through all my past reviews to see if there are any more series that need finishing. Something tells me there will be loads.
With the prospect of a new house, I’m tempted to get some paperbacks but I should probably make sure we have space to fit everything in before I go mad spending on physical books. I’ve already been on a mini IKEA spree this week and someone really needs to stop me.
I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks in both reading and life. We’ll know this weekend if we get the house we’re looking at, so fingers crossed!
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
Good luck with the moving plans! Where have you been looking at?

Thank you! We’ve been looking around the Portsmouth area on the south coast. We’re thinking we might move to one of the smaller villages for a bit of peace and quiet 😄

There’s plenty of those in Dorset and Hampshire xD you’ll be nearer me in Bournemouth then. Burton is a fun witchy village or Ringwood too is fairly affordably priced.
