Urban fantasy short stories are getting harder to find. The search pages are peppered with erotic fiction – that stuff gets everywhere! Urban fantasy anthologies are all over the place but it’s kind of hard to keep track of the short stories you’re reading. At least, if you’re a bit of a mess like me, it is.
This week I aim to start reading novels again. It’s my last week in London and with the move behind us, I’ve got a little more time to invest in reading. I’m so excited! I’ve really missed reading longer books. Legitimately, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
But I have room for one more short story before we get back to our usual scheduling:
“Elemental fae and bomb squad specialist Myla Snow must find the bomb in the subway tunnel to save Mystic City from a cult of witches.”

Made-up magical cities are my second favourite thing. There’s so much flexibility to create an incredible city filled with magical people. Having magical things happen in real life places definitely takes the top spot but this magic city is one of the reasons I can’t wait to give this short story a read. Also, elemental fae!
With this book I will say a hearty goodbye to short stories for now and look forward to some full-length splendour! Did not see that double entendre until I typed it but it’s staying for your enjoyment.
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
