OK, so this is a first.
I don’t actually have any details on this book. It isn’t published yet, it has no cover and it’s not available for pre-order anywhere. Yet it is already on my TBR pile.
Author Rachel Shaw got in touch with me last year about reading and reviewing book one in her fantasy duology: Last Memoria. The cover and blurb were gorgeous but the book was still an utter mystery. Who wouldn’t say yes?
Last year I reviewed Last Memoria and put the review up here on The Secret Library, which you can read here. As you can see, I’m a fan! A few months ago, Rachel got back in touch with me to see if I was interested in finishing the duology and as I am a total scatterbrain, completely forgot to respond to her. (Planners and diaries only work if you know what you’ve forgotten!)
But if I am a little too late for an ARC copy of Scars of Cereba, I still intend to finish the series when it is released in May. Last Memoria was a one-of-a-kind book, the kind of dark fantasy that haunts your dreams years later. It isn’t the type that would have you cowering under your covers and keeping all the lights on after dark. No, it’s far more subtle than that and it leaves a lasting impression.
I wish I had more to show off about this book because I can only imagine it’ll be as good as the first. Maybe better, who knows?
Without cover or blurb, I still have a lot of blind faith in Scars of Cereba and its author. So, nameless, faceless fantasy book, just know you will one day be read!
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
