What's on the TBR pile?

What’s on the reading pile – A Court of Thorns and Roses

There are plenty of series I haven’t managed to get around to yet, and lots of them are quite popular reads. The Hunger Games, while not being urban fantasy, is still a series I want to get through. What juicy details are lurking in the books that were left out of the movies?

But now, with the announcement of A Court of Thorns and Roses getting its own TV adaptation, it’s about time I took reading this series seriously. Although last time I checked, getting a second hand paperback was over £30 – I may as well get myself a hardback for a little over £20!

People rave about this series, and I’ve wanted to read it for ages, so it’s about time I did.

“When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin–one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin–and his world–forever.”

Who doesn’t love a good bad-boy fantasy romance? Wow, this blurb makes the book sound like it’s going to keep us on tenterhooks and with zero regret.

It may be a few months until I can pick up the first book in this series, due to my book budget. But with any luck by the end of this year, I may just be able to treat myself to a hardcover copy. If ever there was a time to invest in a hardback, I’d say it’s with a series like this!

Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!

  1. Book one is a bit slow just to warn you but it’s needed to set the scene and story up for the other books. I accidently bought the first 3 paperbacks after I’d already bought the 3 ebooks and forgot. Then i won an author pick your own prize paperback so i picked book four. XD

They’re re doing the covers which is probably why they’re a bit scarce right now so just wait and they’ll be back cheaper again.
