I love stumbling across sub-genres I hadn’t even contemplated before. These are usually the kind that are great ideas but haven’t gotten popular in the mainstream yet, in the way that making teenagers battle to the death in YA fantasy did.
Last week I discovered a series set in a biodome, yet there’s also magic involved. It’s an unusual sci-fi, magic crossover for me, which leads me to believe I might start reading in the growing sci-fi wizard genre any time now. Hell, this book might just be a gateway.
Gorgeous cover, am I right?
I’ve already started reading this one and a review will be up on Wednesday. About eight chapters in, it’s still really hard to figure out where the plot is going, such is the unpredictability of this book. This was recommended to me by a friend who is already four books in and really enjoying it, so I have no doubt this is going to be a great read.
It’s great to know that if I enjoy it, there’s a fairly deep series that I can carry on reading. Isn’t it just the best to have that reassurance that there’s going to be more?
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
