I’ve discovered a whole bunch of new authors I’d like to read the works of lately. As an Anxious Author and introvert bordering on the status of “hermit”, I was never one for networking. Thanks to the internet and social media, I’ve been doing a lot of it lately, and actually, with all the facial expressions and voice intonations removed, I’m enjoying it, too.
It’s through a bit of online networking that I encountered Ashley McLeo, who is a lovely lady and a great author. So, I’ve started looking at her back list to see what I can read that she wrote, and here’s what I found:
“A mysterious fae-shifter. A battle royale. A chance of a lifetime.
I’ve always been different. Awkward. Horrible at magic. A square peg shoved into a round hole.
But when I arrive in Faerie, I have a chance to start over, to help people who have it worse than me, and to finally get to know my father—the King of Lyonesse.
In Faerie I have friends and a fae guard who fancies me. Crazily enough, for once in my life my bloody magic is cooperating.
There’s one hitch.
To get what I want most, I have to fight—gladiator style—and I must win.
The others are infinitely more powerful than me and a thousand times more charming. Cunning and competitive to boot. And they all want to be tops too. But when I really want something, I’ve never been one to give up.
And I won’t start now.”

I love fae books, and I’m already planning out a future series involving my own take on the fae species. The fae promise a lot of mischief and drama, and I’m all in!
While I’ve been taking a short reading break to deal with my own drama, I’m going to dive back in with some new indie books and this one will definitely be up there to read next.
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
