Apologies for the late post, I’ve spent the day returning home from visiting family on holiday this week. As such, I haven’t made a great deal of progress on anything remotely book-related, and I won’t lie, it’s been difficult to extract myself from work.
Valkyrie Cursed, the first book in The Rogue Valkyrie series, is due to release this month, and naturally, it’s been on my mind a lot. If you’re an indie author, you’ll know that release weeks are incredibly stressful, action-packed, and fulfilling all in one go. Releasing something we’ve worked so hard on out into the world off our own backs is both nerve-wracking and exciting, and both emotions spend their time fighting each other to the death.
This release promises even more intensity for me, because this is the first book I will have released since becoming an author full-time. I guess a lot is riding on this release, and since I’ve tackled this one with a full-on marketing plan and deep series development, I just hope all the hard work will pay off.
This next month I’m planning to knuckle down and make sure I’m really up to date on my ads knowledge and ensuring everything is scheduled. By the end of this week, book two will be up for pre-order and the series will really get rolling – but goodness knows, I still have to finish the darn thing!
June is going to be a month unlike any other for me, and I’m really excited to see how things go in the run-up to release day. The biggest challenge will be staying mindful that this release is going to be the ultimate learning experience, and that even if things go wrong, I’ll hopefully still be able to celebrate a successfully release. Fingers crossed, the most successful one to date. Although, chances are high that there will be a panic moment or two.
Thank you all for your support so far on this blog and on my author journey. I really appreciate all your comments, messages, and offers to ARC! I’ll make sure to keep you up to date this month as we run up to release week. Let’s get June underway!
Thanks for reading! Did you know I also write urban fantasy books? Check them out here!
