Valkyrie Fallen Releases Into The Wild!

Yesterday, Valkyrie Fallen hit the shelves, and with it, a large milestone.

This time last year, I had just finished writing the first book in the series, Valkyrie Cursed, and I was preparing for my very first professional release. This first book would signal the start of a race to get as many books released within the next year as possible.

Valkyrie Fallen is the final book I would publish within that twelve month period that followed the launch of Valkyrie Cursed and has set a new personal record. I once thought publishing five books per year was an impossible task, for me at least. Better, more qualified writers would surely have more luck. I knew it was possible, but I didn’t think it was possible for me.

I used to spend more time in writer spaces on social media, particularly Facebook, on the hunt for info as to how to launch a successful author career. The general consensus in these groups was that publishing several books a year meant that the books couldn’t be any good. That the authors had sacrificed quality for quantity and were somehow profiting from it.

The reason that this opinion was so popular and hardly ever refuted in these groups? All the authors out there writing several books a year were doing their work, not discussing it on social media.

In the indie publishing industry, I’m still not publishing very quickly at all. Many high earning authors publish once a month or more. In the case of one author I know, once a week. It’s mind-blowing, but much like I used to not understand how to produce more than one novel a year, I hope that the mysteries of faster publishing will eventually reveal themselves to me.

In the meantime, to celebrate the release of Valkyrie Fallen, the first book in the series, Valkyrie Cursed is currently on sale for 99c/99p. So if you’ve been waiting for a good time to start this series, now may be it!

Happy Birthday Valkyrie Fallen!
